About me

Solo dev passion project.

What started as a homeschool project with my daughter to get her into coding quickly got out of hand…

I’m Scott. I work full-time, and have had a bucket list item to launch a game for about a decade.

On a whim during a few weeks off at the end of 2020, I started a few game development tutorials for about two hours a day. As I got my teeth into it, some old game ideas came back to life and I thought I’d have a go. We also homeschool our daughter and I thought this would provide a good avenue of learning for her.

Since December 2020 I’ve put in anywhere between two and four hours a day before and after work. I’ve a friend working on the music with me as I’m clueless there, have bought and commissioned some assets and created more, but otherwise I’m flying solo. Can’t blame anyone else for the code, ideas or stories, unfortunately.

Tales of Autumn?

I’m 20+ years deep into the RPG and farm-sim genres. The latter are my particularly favourite escape. I’ve spent more time than I’d care to admit in Mineral town’s mines, Laga Springs, Stardrop Saloon or in more recent years, hanging out with Gerry at the Talking Skull…

Creators should always create something they have a passion for, and would genuinely want to experience themselves.

Sure I just made that up as I couldn’t find the actual quote, but it still stands. I’ve had a few concept ideas kicking round for years, mainly around the terraforming and creature management features, so why not combine that with inspiration from all these great games.

I mean, the obvious why not is because the project is huge. Way too much content. Should be cool though. If I can create a world that offers a few likeminded others the chance to lose themselves in for a while, the same way that I have in so many times, then this will all be worth it.

But yeah, way too big.
