Quietly going public.

How do I know the time is right to go public?
I don’t, really.

Whilst I’ve had a the core idea for a few years now, this project only became real mid-November 2020. The scope of what I’m trying to do is obviously a huge risk for a first project, so I’ve taken the approach of figuring out all my ideas into lists of primary gameplay, secondary features, and “Make it pretty”, and staying pretty disciplined with regards to the order I pick things up.

I figured that as soon as I get all the primary features in I would get a webpage up to start getting some feedback from potential players. I reached this point a little while back, and am now crunching my way through my remaining ‘Alpha milestone’ tasks - one of which being to put the website live.

Reaching this point feels pretty good. To keep myself grounded all along I’ve had a goal of ‘Create a game and have 100 people play it’. If this site and blog helps me get to some of those 100, I’ll be happy!
