Roadmap update

Hey everyone!

Now Tales of Autumn is launching in early access, I thought I’d share some detail on what’s going to be added between now, and the full release. This is all alongside your feedback, and should be added to the early access version as it gets developed!

This of course isn’t everything, and I’ll happily go into more detail on these features and more over on Discord with you.

In no particular order…

Fishing

Not much more to say other than you’ll be able to fish! Included in this  will be a new store and crafting type: Bait and lures. There are 15 fish already added, there just isn’t a way to get them…

If players like it, then I see this as a nice gateway feature to some post-release content too

Mining

I’m a little less sure on the detail behind this one. I know where it fits into the game, and a few animals and items that I’d add or move to the new mining areas, but I haven’t settled on a design for how you’ll actually mine. I don’t want to just copy the usual ways, but at the same time it needs to stay simple and rewarding!

Achievements

Achievements are actually already done, I’ve just deactivated them all whilst in Early Access, mainly because the feedback I get from you all might end up changing a few of them!

Platforms

I’m getting asked quite a bit if I intend to publish the game to the Switch, or Playstation store. My position right now is that I would absolutely love to, but am going to remain completely focussed on PC until the full release is out - same commentary for localising with other languages. I’m intending to include Mac in this release too, providing I see some player appetite for it!

Seasonal music

Early access has a set of tracks that cycle through randomly as the ‘day themes’. This will grow to be a different set of day themes per season. More cutscene and festival music will be added too!

RPG Night

This has on on my todo list since day one - anyone who has visited Hal’s house might be intrigued by the room at the back! This will be a full feature where you can take part in some roleplaying games with a few of the other characters, armed with paper and dice!

There’s an awful lot I’m not adding here just yet, either because I’d like to wait for a dramatic reveal, or because it’s not quite detailed enough for me yet. Rest assured, there’s plenty more cutscenes, dialogue, characters, festivals, animals to come.

Here’s the link to the Steam page, and to Discord for anyone not already there. Look forward to talking to you there soon!

Getting there!

Scott
